Biography

For over 15 years, Vinnie Nappo has represented survivors of childhood sexual abuse in cases across the country against the powerful institutions that enabled, allowed, and ignored abuse.  He has tried cases to verdict in multiple states, including two of the largest verdicts in New Jersey of $25,000,000 and $30,000,000 on behalf of individual survivors against the State of New Jersey, the Newark Board of Education, and the City of Newark.  Over his career, Vinnie has obtained hundreds of millions of dollars for abuse survivors through verdicts and settlements against powerful institutions, including foster care, schools, daycares, religious organizations, hospitals, the Boy Scouts of America, Catholic Church, and other youth serving organizations.  Early in his career, Vinnie worked tirelessly against an online child sex trafficking enterprise, Backpage.com, and was instrumental in the landmark J.S. et al. v. Village Voice Media, et al. case that resulted in the governmental takedown of the infamous website and subsequent criminal prosecution of the website owners.

For too long, institutions marginalized and ignored sexual abuse. Vinnie takes pride in giving a voice to survivors. He has devoted his practice to representing these men and women— empowering them, supporting them in court, and fighting for them at trial. For Vinnie, representing survivors of sexual abuse is not just a business transaction. He genuinely cares about each of the men and women he represents, and guides his clients compassionately through the difficult and, at times, highly emotional, legal process while doing everything in his power to uncover the truth and ensure his clients receive the best representation and outcome possible.

In the community, Vinnie volunteers and serves on boards that support children and abuse survivors.  As part of his broader interest to improve the lives of children and make communities safer, Vinnie works with law enforcement, victim advocates, think tanks, policy groups, politicians, nonprofits groups, and others untied by this common interest.
