Douglas Meerdink

A Call for Witnesses: Victims of Sexual Predator Douglas Meerdink

In November 2022, Redmond resident and Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church Sunday school teacher Douglas Meerdink was arrested and charged by the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office with three felony counts of possession of child pornography. In the charging documents, the attorney’s office stated, “The Defendant’s collection of sexual abuse materials indicate he is particularly interested in the sadistic sexual abuse of very minor children.”

Law enforcement was tipped off by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), who had received a report from the media and technology company Yahoo! stating a user had uploaded 2,114 sexually explicit images of minors to an account linked to Meerdink. During the investigation, law enforcement learned Meerdink was a Sunday school teacher at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship Church, where he taught second and third graders.

In 1998, Meerdink was convicted of soliciting an underage sex worker. Records show he was no longer required to register as a sex offender as of 2003.
