A Call for Witnesses: Survivors of Alleged Sexual Predator Justin Hinchcliffe

To crack down on those who sexually abuse and exploit children, Washington State Patrol and its Missing and Exploited Children Task Force (MECTF) executed “Operation Net Nanny,” a multi-day, multi-agency sting, in early November 2022.

Who was caught in the “Operation Net Nanny” sting?

The most recent operation resulted in the arrest of the following 12 individuals:

  • Adis Lao Cirlo-Hernandez, 23, Centralia, WA
  • Douglas R. Clark, 45, Rochester, WA
  • Tyler D. Clark, 23, Chehalis, WA
  • Mario A. Fernandez, 33, Napavine, WA
  • Michael A. Gillette, 31, Chehalis, WA
  • Gerry G. Greatreaks, 50, Vancouver, WA
  • Justin Hinchcliffe, 43, Olympia, WA

  • Robert E. Morrison, 65, Kelso, WA
  • Antonio T. Nolasco, 36, Shelton, WA
  • Leonardo Tranquilino, 31, Centralia, WA

What is next for those implicated in “Operation Net Nanny”?

The Lewis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is reviewing cases to determine who will face potential criminal charges. On November 17, The Olympian noted, “Primary crimes in the case include attempted rape of a child in the first and second degrees, communication with a minor for immoral purposes, and sexual exploitation of a minor.”

Who is Justin Hinchcliffe?

Justin Hinchcliffe is one of the individuals implicated in the sex abuse sting “Operation Net Nanny.” He is a 43-year-old teacher at Salish Middle School in the North Thurston Public School district. He currently faces several charges related to having sex with a minor. According to KIRO7, he “was charged with one count of second-degree attempted rape of a child, one count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes, and one count of attempted commercial sexual abuse of a minor after he tried to meet up and have sex with someone he thought was a 13-year-old girl.”

What has the North Thurston Public Schools district said about the arrest?

The district issued a statement saying that:

“To the best of our knowledge, the arrest was not related to any event or incident on school grounds, nor did it involve any NTPS students. Due to the nature of the allegations, Mr. Hinchcliffe has been placed on administrative leave and will not be at school pending the conclusion of the criminal investigation and any subsequent district investigation. We recognize the importance of due process and a thorough investigation for those accused of wrongdoing. We are closely monitoring the legal proceedings regarding this matter, and we recognize that the criminal investigation will take time.”
